Our friends Cat and Matt came to visit us for a long weekend in Taiwan. Cat was traveling for business and Matt decided to visit to see what this whole “Asia” thing is all about. Matt arrived in Taichung on Thursday night. Since Friday was a work day for Cat and Scott, Matt and Sarah decided to have a day of pampering.
Saturday Cat arrived and we met up in the big City of Taipei for a night of big city fun and to celebrate Sarah’s birthday.
Back in Taichung, our guests enjoyed the slipper culture of Asia so much that they packed their luggage full of slippers for their own home.
One of the things you must experience in Taiwan is the markets. We borrowed U-bikes and hit the town.
On Monday it was time to explore the country side, visit a tea farm and get out on a hike.
After getting properly caffeinated, we headed out on a hike, deep in the woods, to a suspension bridge.
For our evening entertainment – MAGIC!
Thanks for coming out to visit Cat and Matt!
A post script to this post is that Cat and Matt turned us in to baseball fans! Catherine is a huge Cleveland Indians fan while Matt roots for the Cubs. They were here as both of their teams made it to the Word Series 2016. Cat and Matt were able to secure tickets to game 5. Sarah and I were glued to the radio during game 7 when the Cubs got the win in the 10th inning to beat the Indians 8 to 7. SPORTS!
I love this posting!!!! It is almost as great as the trip itself!
And if I can say so, the magic night may have topped them all….. no giving away your magician secrets!
Hi Kat and Matt–loved seeing your visit. Book me passage! Looks like you had a wonderful time. KTG
