Guns N’ Roses, Taiwan

Take me down to the paradise city!

‘Not In This Lifetime Tour’ with Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan at the Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium. It was the first tour the three have performed together since the 1993 “Use Your Illusion Tour.”

The 4th highest grossing concert tour in history.

Nothin’ lasts forever And we both know hearts can change And it’s hard to hold a candle In the cold November rain*

*although it was in the forecast, no rain on this warm November night

Credit card-eque tickets are not the tickets of the 80s anymore

Came out at 7 pm (on time, very punctual), played three hours straight – no break! That is rock ‘n roll maturity.

The dudes are aging well. They look healthy and must be wearing sunscreen because their skin looked fantastic.

An only-in-Taiwan anecdote

By far this was the driest rock concert we’ve been too. Beer sold out at 7:45 pm and not because people drink a lot, quite the contrary. We’re sure it was a stocking issue. In some countries this may prompt a riot or angry fans, but not here. Just buy a bubble tea and rock on. The other silver lining is no obnoxious drunk people or hangovers.

‘Gun(s) and Rose(s)’ in Mandarin = 槍與玫瑰

Rock on, friends.

  1. Oh Wow, GNR is still rockin’! Did they speak about their phrase Not In This Lifetime? My guess is they are acknowledging that they are OLD now. That’s awesome you went and rocked with them for 3 hours straight!

  2. We love your posts! It is great fun to travel vicariously with you. Thanks so much fo sharing your adventures.
